While Queen LC Lufenia+ is deemed "easy" and a meme, it still has 70% BRV dmg/BRV gain reduction, so it still a good testing ground as a 3 enemy fight, it just has low HP. Besides I have already tried Prompto under 90/90, he is still crazy.
Background info on my Prompto:
CLv 88, HA+0 (around 24K BRV cap short from HA+3), no ultima weapon yet

We first take a look at what Prompto exactly got from his Lv.90 awakening:
(Tinfoil hat on, Dissidia Compendium has not updated yet, I am only interpreting with my poor Japanese, here is the gist of it):

C85 EX Extention 2:
While EX extension 1 is equipped, Prompto has a medium BRV dmg up effect with increased overflow
EX attack has become 100% AOE HP attack with extreme increase in potency. (change: 100% AoE HP damage)

It transform BRV/HP or Overkill+/Crackshot+ into Overkill++/Crackshot++, both of which become free actions (no turn count) and have extremely increased potencies, but they both revert back to the 1+ version after use.

Overkill++ now will first force break the enemy, then have an increased BRV gain for the entire party before performing a 2x (4 BRV + HP) attack, extend 70% ATK down by 1 turn. It still retains its high turn rate.

Crackshot++ (ignore defence) has become a 2x (6 BRV + HP) attack. It still retains its splash damage.

Prompto's C88:
6 turn, increased ATK up effect and slight BRV gain up (self)

Difference:
The most obvious improvement that Prompto is that not only Prompto's EX damage drastically increased, but the additional BRV damage up attached to his EX extension has helped him by quite a large margin as well (tested in 90/90). He may not have received a rework, but the way you play him may already have significantly changed.
EX:
Structurally speaking, what's different between Prompto and Cid's Ex is that Prompto actually gathers BRV from all targets instead of that one target that Cid is targetting. They have both become 100% AoE HP attack now. While Prompto has 3 less HP dumps than Cid and a lower BRV cap, he has a big advantage of larger source of BRV gathering before HP dump. So damage ceiling wise Prompto is much lower than Cid, but it is dramatically easier for Prompto EX to keep its momentum. Even after summon phase, Cait Sith CA has fallen off while operating on a two debuff CA only environment, he still dealt 1.2 million on each target at the end. Tbh Cait Sith CA is probably not even needed if all you want is the EX damage, not some other functionality that I will go into later.
To further increase his damage, similar to Cid you would want to increase his BRV cap (mine is missing 2.5K per hit and he is still hitting these numbers lol). Sadly, his C88 does not come with BRV cap increase, so you will need someone with C88 party BRV cap increase like Llyud or OK, or BT users like Noel/Garland/Jegran (50%) (Jegran is less desirable because he does not come with HP damage up). Also you can go the BRV gain route with Y'shtola and Cait Sith as well since Prompto's C88 has BRV gain up attached. Needless to say HP damage up is also a great modifier to save some effort.

Due to the three major changes of his EX extension 2, Prompto's optimal playground may have shifted to be more favourable towards AoE or even 3 target fights. His main damage now comes from his EX (which happens to be fast recharging), and splash from various skills and follow-ups. Arguably, his LD's split damage is the odd one out in this case, but salvageable with overflow and HP damage up.

Transformed attack:
They are probably the reason why he does not really need a rework. Both of them are now 2 Hp dump attacks that are free actions with different special effects. Overkill++ is now a force break attack with prominent battery capabilities (high turn rate). Crackshot++ now has way more hits and still ignores defences. They are overall much more enticing to use than S1 and S2 before given the damage, turn efficiency and utility. Also, given how his LD follow-up and Overkill++ are both instant breaking tools, he should have very little problem finding a crackshot marker target to refresh his stacks, and in turn using these two attacks.
While I don't think the use of BRV/HP attack (Overkill/Crachshot) hinders his fast EX recharge much, do remember there is still buff management to be have, specifically his LD and S2 buffs (S1 too if you need him to dodge).
At times, you may have to delay the EX while managing these.

Battery and BRV gain:
Due to his BRV gain up/and BRV/HP damage improvements, it is much more enticing to use him as a battery source now with consistent damage output. In normal Lufenia+ without BRV gain aura, he can grant around 15K-20K on his follow-up/Starshell, which normally can ensure you don't get broken. With C88 or even Y'shtola, his battery becomes quite much stronger to the level that it can some characters' mBRV.
Also with additional BRV Gain, his compatibility with Cait Sith CA has increased, further boosting his damage.
