[DFFOO GL][Kadaj Event Lufenia] Golbez, Pecil, Kam'lanaut
Suddenly wanted to try recording GL on iPAD and ... it turned out to be in 4:3 lol. So the video is a bit scuffed when I tried to stretch it on a video editor, apologies in advance. Uploading this while doing SB farm on Llyud because for whatever RNG reasons he arrived at my doorstep with both his LD and EX, so I am not turning him down to my roster in spite of my immeasurable disappointment at myself for throwing a few tickets again.
My discord was ringing a few times with a few messages, so while solving the aspect problem I chopped off a little part of the upper section. May have to find a way to record on iPAD properly if I want to do it for GL again.
Kadaj Event:
Haven't done it before, only did the JP LC version and heard about the 10% threshold cleanses. There are quite a number of things that require planning and attention:
1. 10% HP threshold cleanses
2. Recasting with no debuffs on = petrification for 2 turns
3. 29%/49%/79% thresholds come with a cleanse, a full recast recharge, immense battery and BRV dmg reduction at 999% until broken
The recast comes with BRV gain + magic BRV attack, so my initial instinct was using Celes, but sadly her damage is just not making it, and I thought of Kam'lanaut's addle and attack downs auras from his buffs, so I tried him out.
To my considerable surprise, my first run finished at 69 turns, and I thought it was the planets aligning, so I tried it again and finished faster than before , and I event go petrified by accident once.
There are 4 solutions with this setup to breaking the bosses at thresholds:
1. Caius LDCA for instant breaks
2. Ami LDCA for 0 BRV
3. Summon
4. Golbez's BT freeze in advance
Also, Kam'lanaut's BRV+++ is a gravity attack, so that can be used to break with some CAs like Ultimecia's CA, although I did not use it this time and used hope instead.
I tried this stage before with Paladin Cecil alone for defensive measure and it is still very easy to die. With the additional help from Kam and hope's protective buffs, it made their BRV attacks significantly more manageable.
Kam's buffs already come with ATK and MagicATK downs, if the addle debuff is on an additional 30% of these two effects will be layered on top as well, which quite effectively hampers the boss outside of 1 or 2 attacks that are physical.
Kam is mainly ST and he is not a stellar damage dealer. He does have 30% damage refund after a turn, so he is harder to be broken than Pecil. His BRV+++ (when breaking) gives him a free additional turn to break the other target, so I put Ami's CA on him instead of Pecil. LD to apply addle after a cleanse + recast is a viable strategy if they target the same person or the targeted person is low or you just need a debuff to avoid being petrified, but in general just use it to refresh his LD icon buff. His EX cannot delay this boss, but it is 100% AoE, so it is still a great damage tool to push past HP thresholds.
I wasn't expecting him to be viable and outputting enough damage here and he definitely is not the perfect fit for the stage, but colour me impressed he does work and provide a semblance of stability to the run. There are still risky situations, but he does bring it down to an even more approachable level.
