[DFFOO JP][Xander LC Lufenia][Fun run]Synergy between 3 break/rebreaker BT users
10Noel, Caius and Vayne are all rebreakers and all of them have bonus mechanics attached to breaking or attacking breaking targets.
Obviously this is Xande's Lufenia (break orb), which is the last LC before Lufenia+ is introduced, but that is not to say sections of the synergy ideas cannot be applied to Lufenia+.
The idea of this setup is to, during the BT phase:
1. Use Noel (any of the 3 can in practice) to rebreak the enemy
2. Use the break bonus from Noel and Caius to pseudo-battery refund
3. Use the battery for the Cid Raines CA launch
4. Noel's break triggers Vayne's follow-up every turn, dealing damage and refunding Vayne in the process for the next launch
1. Break bonus: Caius + Noel (also Bahamut and Balthier sphere lol)
Break bonus is typically something that people have ignored for the longest time until Caius BT appeared. Caius BT gives 500% up, Bahamut 200% up, Balthier sphere 50%, and unbeknownst to me until upon checking Noel on Compendium, he also comes with 100% break bonus up for the entire party with his LD extension. So every time something breaks, the entire party gets 850% break bonus BRV refund.
Ironically if this was Lufenia+, it will come with an even greater base break bonus at 10k instead of 8.5, and it is free from Lufenia+ BRV gain reduction, so you actually will get even more out of this feature.
2. Additional follow-up attack from Vayne
Unlike CoD's follow-up which triggers regardless of the situation (sometimes triggering unwanted breaks and pushed CoD's turn forward lol), Vayne's follow-up only triggers on (re/)break, but it is a ST 2 HP dump attack. So naturally a BT user who can break the enemy repeatedly inside a BT will maximize the extra damage inside the BT phase. Noel rebreaks on basically every skill except for BRV/HP/C88 (though if the enemy recovers from break somehow, both BRV (80%) and C88 (100%) are gravity-based attacks with BRV hits, so pretty much guarantee breaks) and Caius literally force (re)breaks regardless of what he does to the enemy under BT effect. So both of them can trigger this effortlessly.
Consecutive turn abusers can also take advantage of this. Prominent exampels: Zell (under LD effect, breaks every time), Lightning (EX/LD).
External calls and alternative setups:
1. Atypical damage booster - Cait Sith's CA
All 3 of them have quite a fair amount of BRV hits, also all 3 of them have at least 3 individual buffs. So when Cait Sith enters the field, all 3 would have 6 buffs, maximizing Cait Sith LDCA's buff efficiency (requires 16-18 buffs).
Sazh LDCA would probably work better for them in Lufenia+, since you would otherwise need a BRV gain aura up user, and both Caius and Noel's BRV potencies are high with increased BRV cap from their BT effects, so it would further amplify Sazh's effect.
2. Launch - Cid Raines CA
Since CA does not disappear in BT phase, you can launch every turn. The break bonus refund reduces the need for BRV hits in the air to fuel the next launch, nor does it require BRV gain up to counter Lufenia+ reduction.
In Lufenia+ however, one may consider having a 3rd party member like Selphie or have a Keiss CA instead.
Lufenia+ team considerations:
Typically one probably would not bring all 3 of them at the same time. However any combination of any 2 of them actually work really well and they cover a few different areas.
Vayne: Nice party buffer and an attacker
Both his LD and BT buff the party in varies ways. Being a consecutive turn abuser means he can abuse the other two's BT effect without BT-ing himself. In Lufenia+ he may need more BRV dmg up and BRV gain up than the other two, since his potency is a bit on the lower side.
Also it is more optimal to put him on 3 stacks on conquerors' power before BT-ing, since he gets 30% BRV dmg up and post-turn BRV regen, so his follow-up hits harder.
Caius: Debuffer, force breaker, more AoE oriented
On the other side of the spectrum, Caius helps by debuffing instead of buffing the party. He is also the only 1 out of the 3 who can AoE break all enemies twice in the same turn (still only 1 break bonus refund though) with Giga-Graviton + BT, so he can be a strong CC option should the need arises. Quite potent in dealing damage, but he can be even better with minor BRV gain help. Besides generic damage boosting effects, his BT effect also pushes you further beyond the damage ceiling (20% BRV dmg cap and HP dmg cap up).
Noel: Ignore defence attacks, raw power/gravity rebreaker
The only 1 that does not have dependency on BRV gain, unless you want to support him with battery. Noel has some minor party-wide ATK and mBRV buffs but most of his party support comes from his BT. Most notably, he has an extreme BRV dmg cap buff at 50%, great for party members who have trouble capping HP damage just short of a few BRV hits. His damage mainly come from the EX, and he can spam it every other turn under BT effect. So oddly enough he has the highest personal damage outside of BT phase, not in it.
