This one I did after the mage run, usually trying the hardcore run where you don't leave with the rouge. I can get close to 10, but haven't gotten much farther in that regard.

So since I basically did range and rogue tends to just be the physical aspect with mage qualities usually, it just feels like the same run for me and mage honestly feels like the one you should do last, since it has the most interesting aspects due to the vast amount of spells, to just spamming attack. So I did warrior, since the melee aspect brings about challenge that a ranged character wouldn't run into.

It was ok for the most part. Really the biggest issue that occurred was ranged units running away. It wasn't unheard of for me to run across the map, chasing down these enemies. Some were so bad, I basically had to corner them before I could finally get in attacks. That was more Hellfire then the standard game though for that.

This lead me to the accuracy that can eat a load. Way above necessary to hit a target, whiff, whiff. I could actually understand some of this if the game informed me, or if it was say, a enemy with a shield, because visually I can presume they might block it. This didn't happen though and it was more like, it's a lich, you swing 3 times, they all miss when you're at like 110% accuracy, now back to the corner. I'm not being informed about an special circumstances and it just looks like I'm whiffing something that should be impossible. The extra length is basically just dealing with melee specific bs. Run around like an idiot to catch someone walking away.

Now due to his stats, it was kind of like being a mage when you get the shield. As long as I had health pots, it wasn't a big deal to survive the encounters. Some are pretty bad to deal with, like when the room is just filled to the brim with long range spam, but just some corner kiting did fine there. I as well, when doing the expansion portion, decided to fight the demon there at his full power. Clearly it's only a boost to magic related skills, because I smacked him around with the warrior. I was kind of expecting to get destroyed, but it was more disappointing.

I'd say honestly, the best route to get the most out of the game without going for specifics, would probably do the mage last and anyone else in front of him. You don't have anything to judge the other characters on and you get the full playthrough of their types. After doing what is the most interesting, it just felt rather pointless to do something that tends to be mostly spamming one move for the most part. You can branch into spells, but you'll just be the worse version of the mage. While I'd probably always go rouge for the hardcore stuff, just due to range and easier access at the start, it's just not casual game interesting, at least to me.
