Diamond Marvel Select Apocalypse Review #shorts
Diamond Marvel Select Apocalypse Unboxing and Review. This action figure is a new sculpt of the character based on the comic book artwork from his appearances in X-Factor and X-Men. For the most part, the sculpt is a very faithful rendition of the character. The colors choice for his costume are nice, and the paint looks very clean, aside from a couple of small mistakes that are hard to notice. The articulation in the legs and elbows is somewhat limited, with the joints not able to bend to a 90 degree angle, although they have swivel joints; the torso rocker is also unable to bend far back or forward, and really only serves as another swivel with a little movement, and he has a waist swivel that isn't really necessarily. One of his thigh swivels is very stiff, so I wasn't able to do much with it. Unfortunately, the cables are very stiff and don't bend far to move with his arms, so you have very limited movement if you want them to stay attached to his arms. Accessories include a set of extra hands, and three attachments for his arms; his gauntlets and hands are removeable, and two of the attachments require you to remove his gauntlets. All work very well and seem sturdy. The quality is generally pretty good, though there is quite a bit of room for improvement. It looks like the comic book art though, so it's a relatively inexpensive option for collectors who want to have a good sculpt of Apocalypse on a budget, compared to the recent retro card Marvel Legends release. This toy is now available from all retailers that carry Marvel Select, including comic book shops everywhere, and you might be able to find him in the brick and mortar store. Is this worth buying? Is this worth the price? At $29.99 it's a well-detailed figure with somewhat limited articulation but is still quite good.
