Jon Lovitz improvised a hilarious line! When baseball scout Ernie Capadino goes to the family's barn to recruit Dottie Hinson, he starts to give her a sales pitch before yelling “will you shut up” at a cow that was interrupting his speech. This line was improvised by Lovitz as the cow was really interrupting his acting, but what he didn’t realise was that the cow that was relentlessly mooing was actually giving birth as the scene was being filmed. Given how funny the genuine delivery of the line was it was kept in the final cut of the movie.
