880Edward Norton had originally considered taking a role in the film, but he ultimately turned it down after finding out that he would be playing a human instead of a Na’vi. Cameron was so eager to work with Edward that he ended up casting him as Nova in Alita: Battle Angel. When the Avatar sequels are finished, they will have cost over one billion dollars to finance altogether, and James Cameron has stated that he’s prepared to stop the films after the third one if Avatar: The Way of Water isn’t profitable. James stated, “The question is, how many people give a shit now?” Avatar: Way of Water is set to release thirteen years after the original film came out in 2009.
