Once the film was in the editing phase, the film was rated-R, but it was close enough to a PG-13 film that they decided to reshoot certain scenes to tone down the gore and violence. In the end, the crew believed that toning down the violence actually worked better for the suspense of the film. During the film, a technician can be seen using a pen to track Megan’s eye movements, and this is similar to the scene in Robocop where they go through a montage to reconstruct Officer Murphy.
