With the inclusion of Beast and Angel, this movie marks the first time that all of the original X-Men team from 1963 appear in the same film while not at the same time. The original team consists of Professor X, Cyclops, Phoenix, Beast, Iceman, and Angel. Another connection to the comics comes in the form of Storm and Callisto constantly battling throughout the movie. In the comics, they battle back and forth for control of Callisto’s gang, The Morlocks. Before Bryan Singer left the production, he originally had planned to include Emma Frost and Gambit. Emma Frost was going to be played by Sigourney Weaver, and Gambit was going to be played by Keanu Reeves.
