3Today I tried Dig Dug II : Trouble in Paradise for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). Release Date: 1989
Dig Dug II was originally released in the Arcades in 1985. Its been ported to quite a few systems these days but the NES port was one of the earliest. It also more than doubled the number of Rounds/stages of the original arcade version. The arcade version has 32 rounds and the Famicom/NES port has 72.
If you are like me and have only played the original you might be surprised to see the perspective is completely different this time around. You also get a drill move that can collapse the ground beneath your enemies if you know what you're doing.
I am absolutely terrible at puzzle games but I've always had a soft spot for dig dug. For me, this game is pretty difficult so on my first attempt I was only able to make it to the 10th round where I was promptly annihilated.
I probably still prefer the original but I need to practice 2 a little more.
