Today we are looking at a playthrough of the Green Valley Lake Amateur Bass fishing Tournament in Bassin's Black Bass(With Hank Parker) for the Super Nintendo. Release Date: 1994

AH yes, Man vs Fish, a tale as old as time. This was my favorite fishing game growing up. It belonged to my brother but we both played it a LOT.

In this video I play through the first tournament(with some edits for times sake) and show the location of the secret lure and finally what happens when you crash the boat. I put 2 clock transitions in near the second half of the video to indicate where I edited out some of the boring parts(19:40 & 24:05) where I didn't find any fish or get any bites. This was about 8 mins or so of dead air.

If you wanted to you could fish for a lot longer than I did before weighing in but I didn't feel like I was catching anything bigger than what I already had, so I docked early. I still managed to win with 26 lbs. I also took the guide with me. I haven't played this in years so I was a little rusty on which lures to use where. He offers a little comic relief as well but causes you to have to click through a million more dialogue boxes.

There isn't many different or big fish to show off in the first tournament but trust me there are lots more in the other tournaments and they get BIG. There are also some cool locations, hidden lures and weather effects.

You may notice that the fish finder is messed up in the recording at times. In the game it has a rapid flashing effect and I guess the recording software just couldn't handle it. Honestly the thing is basically there for flavor since it lies half the time lol

I love this game but I do have a couple complaints. First is the audio balancing: the sound effects are spot on but the super loud beep sound when you confirm anything in the game is just overpowering. I even put a audio limiter on this vid in editing to soften it but idk how much it helped. What were they thinking lol

My Second complaint is a nitpick. I really don't care for the reed fishing. Not only can your lure hit a reed and break somehow but the fish get hung up CONSTANTLY and all you can do is sit there patiently until the decide to unstuck themselves.

Anyway that's all I've got for now, I'll probably upload the other tournaments soonish.
