Dino Crisis [PS1] - Journey #320 (1/2)
0Dino Crisis is a survivor action/horror game by the same developers who made Resident Evil. It uses pretty much the same mechanics and the same engine, but instead of zombies trying to eat your face we now had dinosaurs. You play as a mercenary whom together with two other team members are dispatched to a remote island to capture a some scientist and bring him back to the government. Once there, they realize that this scientist has somehow conjured a bunch of large dinosaurs whom have tore the complex apart. Your mission is now to find this dude, secure him and get out. Preferably with all your limbs still attached.
The game is pretty explicit and gory, no doubt about it. But the graphics work well, and creates a very good atmosphere. The sound design is also pretty well done, with the exception of the very hectic combat music that plays occasionally. Biggest complaint is probably how clunky movement is, due to the tank controls and the locked camera angles, but it does also add a bit to the tension so I'll let it slide. This is a good game.
