I watched this in my Brooklyn version of my high school years, and it was really great to watch, and I do remember finishing and reading the original novel.

FUN FACT: This film adaptation of the original novelized book, features Shia LaBeouf (of "Disney's Even Stevens" fame, as Louis, and not forgetting about the DCOM, "Hounded".) as Stanley “Caveman” Yelnats.
