After 65 hours of gameplay so far, I'm probably not even halfway through the total number of quests and combat encounters available on the game's second map, the town of Driftwood with surrounding areas. The Reaper's Eye starting island was densely packed with adventure, history and long-buried treasure (some of which I completely missed, despite being reasonably thorough in my exploration), but Driftwood features an almost bewildering amount of (often intriguingly entangled) story threads to pursue. The writing and voice acting continues to be surprisingly good, and I'm much more interested in the world and its inhabitants than I expected to be after my admittedly brief experience with the first game in the series.

Combat-wise there have been countless of humilitating defeats (unwisely playing on Tactician difficulty as I am), but also - like in the previous part of the game - a handful of truly gratifying victories which have really spurred me on. As challenging as the game continues to be, only fighting enemies at or below your party's current XP level makes a big difference and focuses your exploration to particular parts of the map at any given time. This also means the numerous quests become somewhat easier to navigate, despite a lackluster in-game quest log.
