Hello everyone, my name is Chia.
I have attempted to build a racing simulator rig, which is right next to me here.
So here we are, the racing simulator rig is finally completed.
I have installed a Logitect G27 steering wheel and gear shifter on it, and plug it to my PS4.
About this rig what I realized is that some of you out there aren't aware that the Logitech G27 can actually work on the PS4, with an external device to remap the buttons. That can be a topic for another video.
The rig is now painted and completed, and it has been put into use for several weeks now, since Christmas last year.
First, this rig works as expected doesn't wobble at all, even in rigorous driving maneuvers. It is firm, sturdy and it a stable footprint on the floor.

Let's take a look how things are mounted together. The rig is detachable, into 3 main parts, with the use of screws and wing nuts. The seat, mounting bar, and steering mount.

The journey of building this rig isn't as easy as everyone would think it is.
Here are problems that needs major attention, that you need to consider before you build the rig.

1. As I have said in previous video, before you apply glue, we have to make sure all parts are marked and mount points are in the right place. Mark which part that needs to be glued and which one doesn't.

Be sure to separate all the parts and glue them together, piece by piece and do not stop until the entire frame is completely glued.

Be precise, otherwise it will go out of shape. The gluing process can mess up the shape of your entire rig frame, if one part got glued at a wrong angle.

So just be aware of that, it can mess up your entire rig. If you messes up on one part, the rest of the it will be mess up as well.

3. About the wood thickness, was a mistake here. I should have bought 1" thick instead of 1/2".
So to solve that, I have added wood blocks, to mount the steering wheel and the shifter.

4.Installing the seats. This seat is taken out from a car and the seat rails and mounts are on uneven grounds, when mounted on a flat surface. This is because the mount points were designed to fit in a specific model of a car interior.

When we mount it on a flat surface we will get like seat wobble, because of the mounting points that matches the shape of the interior of the car.

There are 2 ways to solve the problem.
One install it using a universal seat rail. That will cost RM100.
OR
Add wood blocks and washers to level the seat until it is on even territory. Then mount the seat with bolts and nuts.

5. The other problems that I have encounter when building this rig is that, I am unable to find all the parts and materials in a single hardware store.

Another problem that I have encounter when building this rig is that, not all the materials and parts can be bought from the same hardware store. They are all in different locations, so i have to go around from store to store to buy the parts that meet the specifications of building this rig.

I don't follow the original plan. Some parts are not easily available, I have to find them, that will take some time, so the cost of getting around and finding finding these parts wasn't factored in to the total cost of building this rig.

I have added some cup holders, and they are very useful, for the sake of convenience, as well as it is big enough to hold a phone in there. So it also doubles as a smartphone holder.

And I have also added the USB port extension, it allows charging of your smartphone and connecting of your PS4 accessories.
Cup Holders and also can be use as a phone smartphone Holder.
Padel support panel, added an anti-slip floor mat. The carbon fiber stickers looks good , but didn't do a good job holding up to the friction.

And some upgrades that I've made to this rig is the FIXA. I figured that this rig might get dragged along the floor and so I have added FIXA (from IKEA) beneath the rig for floor protection.
On the pedal support area I installed the anti-slip floor mat, so the pedals will sits there even when you press the pedals or use the clutch.

Summary, it works for any racing game, any console. It gets the job done.
