Is DLC good? Are microtransactions bad? In online arguments everywhere the terms DLC and microtransactions are often used both interchangeably by some, and distinct elements of games by others. It’s not uncommon to hear gamers say that DLC is good and microtransactions are bad. Microtransactions of notably refers to the size of the transaction, while DLC refers to the content so how can these terms be used to talk about the same things in games? I have a few suggestions for ways to have this discussion, how we can both discuss good and bad microtransactions and DLC.
