This is a feeler video.
Gonna try to make more DMC5 videos and this one is sort of a test run for a lot of things.

When I 'dropped' that other game last year, I quite frequently said I want to make videos for DMC5. At the time a hell of a lot of people were telling me to play Iceborne or Rise and some were even disappointed to hear that Devil May Cry 5 might be my next journey.
I remember, someone told me that I probably wouldn't be able to get more than a dozen videos out of DMC5 because it's a single player action game.

I understood that he was implying that because the game has no multiplayer, static story missions and a challenge tower that there may not be that much room for multiple varied videos about guides or gameplay runs. But the more I thought about that sentence, the more I started it started to piss me off.

This game, in my opinion, is one of the hardest games to make videos for. Period.

It is extremely difficult to record good runs for this game because the technical complexity of the combat and sheer height of the skill ceiling are downright mind-boggling. Plus the game revolves around the core concept of styling and not doing the same basic stuff over and over, so you are inclined to play in a way that is robust and versatile.
Most other well-known content creators for this game are really good and have the market cornered. The average viewer of this game probably doesn't play all that much, but they watch highly skilled players and pretend to be experts so they can condescendingly tell you that you suck.

But the main reason why that sentence pissed me off so much is because it's probably true -- maybe I can only get a dozen videos out of this game. But not because it is static and limited in content, but because it's really hard and I feel like no matter how much I practice, I will never be good enough to make decent videos.

Actually, one major reason why DMC5 videos have not materialized on this channel until now is because this game low key gives me anxiety.

Don't get me wrong, I have a blast playing this game and it's probably the most fun I have had with an action game in the last 10 years.

I love learning how to play DMC5 and getting better really feels meaningful.

But I feel like I'm about to get smothered by my own perfectionism in content creation.

But you can't live in fear. Pour one out for you boi. I'm going in.
