Do you NEED a Board Game Table!?
2,656Of course you do not need to buy a board game table. Then again, you don't need to even be playing board games, right? So how should you weigh your decision if you decide to take the plunge into buying one of these delightful works of carpentry? How does the arena-like usage with the rail running around work for games? How is the mat like? Can you use it for other things besides playing games? We use the Duchess, a board game table from boardgametables.com (bought through kickstarter) as our comparison.
The Duchess was our first board game table ever in high school, and we were super excited! How do we feel about the purchase about 4 years later, having gone back and forth from this table to other houses' normal tables? Well, it definitely adds to the tabletop experience, but it's by no means necessary. Keep watching though, because we have a lot more to say!
