Do you want water? - Kaccha Limbu (2017) #movierecommendation
Kachha Limboo is a tough watch for sure, Based on the Marathi novel, Runanubandh by Jaywant Dalvi, the film marks the directorial debut of versatile actor Prasad Oak who managed to deliver such a bold and thought-provoking film leaving such an impact on the viewer. Kachha Limboo won the National Award for Best Feature Film in Marathi.
The film revolves around the Katdare family which includes the Katdare couple and their special child, Bachhu. Performed by Manmeet Pem, Bachhu is a special child whose mental age is of a child but physically he's growing like any other human and hence his physical needs also need a channeling which we later catch up in the movie a very discomforting way.
The film also stars Sonali Kulkarni and Ravi Jadhav as the Katdare couple, and Sachin Khedekar and Anant Mahadevan as colleagues of the couple respectively in their jobs.
Manmeet deserves a standing ovation just for his performance. Spectacular! Other actors were also fine in their respective roles. Prasad Oak in his first project as a director definitely left an impression without a doubt.
The black-and-white theme throughout the misery of the characters is very well captured by cinematographer Amalendu Chaudhary.
Overall, even though it can be a little unsettling, this film truly deserves a watch!
