Dokaben is centered on Taro Yamada and his teammates Iwaki, Tonoma, and Satonaka and was focused mainly on their activity as a high school baseball team. It's focused on Yamada, Iwaki, and Sachiko and was set in Takaoka Middle School.

This is a turn based strategy card game played using a deck of random cards. In every inning the play picks an action to do and then pick a random card, the opponent do the same, if you card has a higher number than your rivals you'll succeed. So yeah, it's a rng fest.

There some elements that can help you score points, the first one is p2w, every time you start a fresh inning or continue after a game over screen, you'll get extra limited points that can be added to your card, those change depending on which stage you're playing.
So you can score high with low number cards and beat your opponent, but beware you can also go over the number ten and do a foul.
When pitching, calling a time-out get you random buffs by to your cards depending by the shot you pick or based on the opponent strategy. Still having high number cards helps a lot.

The second help is the players skills, every player has unique special shot that consume stamina, when completely drained you need to insert more coin to continue.
This shots still require you to get a higher number card, but sometimes they will counter your opponenet card anyway, giving you a favorable result (i.e. avoiding a strike making the opponent miss).

There are also rare cards the give you major advantage if you win the draw, like conquiring two or three bases in one go, some of them (gold) will guarantee a homerun if you get three or four numbers above the opponent card, etc.

There are also even more random rare chance cards called "Lucky", there two types orange and blue, the first one will mirror the opponent card, the blue one is a guaranteed success.

There are six team to pick in the game, after you choose one you need to beat them other five to complete the game and become the champion.
The cpu cheats a lot, especially when is losing badly, you'll notice they will start drawing all "Lucky" cards or always higher numbers cards then you, winning and recovering the score difference in no time.
