Donkey Kong ‘94: Nintendo’s First Remake
40Donkey Kong ‘94 is a classic, and it’s so much more than just a re-release of arcade Donkey Kong on the Game Boy. Nintendo really went the extra mile with this puzzle-platformer. I’d say it’s pretty much the company’s first remake.
This video dives into the details of that, going overall the new puzzle mechanics and other fun features that make the game stand out. There are some unavoidable puzzle solutions in the video though, so prepare to have a few of them spoiled.
If you want to play Donkey Kong ‘94 yourself, there aren’t any legitimate ways outside of an original Game Boy cartridge or a previous download from the 3DS Virtual Console.
