Donkey Kong Country 3: Part 48: Knautilus (True Final Boss & 103% Banana Queen Ending)
14So after beating Rocket Rush, you should have the 5th and last Cog by that point. Bring it to Boomer's machine and see what happens.
The machine properly works, and causes a submarine to enter out from the lake in the middle of Krematoa. However, this sub was also making everything too hot and steamy...
Enter into this sub, Knautilus, so see what the big deal's about it.
It turns out that Baron K. Roolenstein had hid himself away from the Kongs after being beaten in Kastle Kaos. For this next fight, he's gonna dispose of them for good, this time!

First, avoid his weapons, the electric generators as well as the fireballs.
When a Steel Barrel appears, pick it up and throw it towards the vacuum that activates on the ceiling, it should fall on K. Rool, but you have to make sure it hits his Propellerpack. This will bring him to your plane, where you can just bash his back with more barrels.
You'll repeat this for again, but after another background strike, he activates the second generator that can be blocked by another Steel Barrel. Once you've hit them again from there, he'll start moving the conveyor belt on the floor while unleashing more of his weapons.
From there, just keep hitting him. He will soon be defeated once and for all, and then you get the final DK Coin as a reward.

The way I have carefully made this entire playthrough was to address how absolutely nothing happens right after you beat K. Rool from this level. I move on to cover the rest of the game.
With a grand total of 41 DK Coins, bring them all to Funky Kong. He will use them to build his final contraption: The Gyrocopter! This copter will let you fly to anywhere in the main Northern Kremisphere map!
So then I use this to find the last 3 Banana Birds I still need to free. There are three BB locations that can only be reached with the Gyrocopter:
- I reach the first one, Belcha's Burrow, at 4:45. It is almost completely southwest of the map near closed-off land.
- The second one, K's Kache, is on a small island next to the sea of clouds northwest of the map.
- The third and last one, Hill-Top Hoard, is right at the deep northeast corner of the map at 6:04, just right of Kaos Kore.
Afterwards, I should now have 15 Banana Birds total!
Now bring them all the Wrinkly Kong's very first Save Cave and see what happens.

All of the Banana Birds from Wrinkly's Save Cave decide to give Dixie & Kiddy a ride through the skies. They take them to the northwest corner with that sea of clouds...
The Banana Birds bring the Kongs to the site of their mother, the Banana Queen!
When K. Roolenstein took over the Northern Kremisphere, he somehow sealed the Banana Queen behind an evil barrier. However, thanks to harmonizing her songs with all 15 of her babies, the barrier was dropped, freeing her.
As a grand thanks to freeing her, the Banana Queen allows the Kongs to ride on her back as she now seeks revenge against the crocodile that imprisoned her!

Baron K. Roolenstein had recently stolen Funky's Hover Boat to make a quick getaway, but the Banana Queen chased him through all of the Northern Kremisphere's lakes.
Eventually, when K. Rool thought he was in the clear, he was trapped and stuck under a massive egg that the Banana Queen laid upon.
At this point, K. Rool was truly defeated, and Dixie & Kiddy taunted him further by sitting and relaxing on the egg he was struck by.
The game is now finished, but if you wait for a while, you'll see Cranky water skiing with Funky, up until he falls off. He then swims up and holds a sign that says yes, this is truly THE END!
This should give you a 103% completion rate, and the ranking of "Top Banana"!

Thank you for watching this playthrough. I've seen that this game isn't looked up to as fondly as DKC2 was, but perhaps besides all of those Banana Birds and Brothers Bears sidequests, this game felt as good to play as the others.
