Sonic Adventure 1 (PC Modded): Knuckles Story Part 4: Shovel Claw & Red Mountain
14Having been successfully fooled by Eggman (AGAIN!), Knuckles now wonders what Sonic would be after the missing pieces of the Master Emerald. He continues his own quest to find those pieces while keeping Sonic on his mind.
Going into one of the caves of Mystic Ruin, a monkey enemy traps Knuckles in, but then he quickly afterwards finds a really handy tool: The Shovel Claw.
This allows him to dig through dirt, and pick up random objects such as rings and bombs, or useless junk. Dig into a dirt pot to find a "monkey destruction switch" that blows up the enemy that trapped you in, allowing you to escape.
You must then take that same switch into the mountain range to blow up another monkey that will let Knuckles get into his next level of his story: Red Mountain.

The Shovel Claw can also be used to unearth emerald shards that are buried into the ground, and like with all other level this is entirely randomized.
Just make sure to remember that the claws only work on dirt, you can't dig into metal, and finally (for this game), you can only dig into the ground, and not on walls.
Ironically, none of the pieces were buried for me, this time.
