First, you know I have to compliment the art direction here, it's wonderful and just really pretty. What, I love pixel art okay..
Alright, now for the rest of this promising game. In Don't Forget Me, you work in a clinic where people can come in and have their memories saved, copied onto a drive of sorts so they don't forget them.
However, this time you've got a client who's connected, somehow, to the government. You soon find out it's more complicated than that, and before long, you discover a sinister plot that threatens to destroy human individuality... forever.
Story-wise, Don't Forget Me has me hooked. It is exactly the kind of cyberpunk-esque story I love, a story that asks this question: are technological advances more important than our humanity? This is the question that this game tackles, and with this demo it's got me really interested.
Now gameplay wise, things are quite simple, but actually quite fun. It's a sort of puzzle game, where you can search people's memories using keywords to unlock new data nodes which'll give you more information on what's going on. It takes a bit of thinking, so it's not always easy, but it's a really fun and different way of doing things.
I do, however, hope that other gameplay mechanics will be introduced. As cool as this was, I could see getting quite repetitive after a while, unless they add a cool twist to it.
Don't Forget Me was a really interesting game with a very intriguing story, and I'll be keeping my eye on this one.
