1The Lich has thrown the world into a timeless loop and plunged its inhabitants into never ending chaos. Wield an expanding deck of mystical cards to place enemies, buildings, and terrain along each unique expedition loop for the brave hero.
So I was slightly hesitant to try this out, card-based games are usually not really my thing, but Loop Hero has proven to be quite fun! It's simple: you enter a stage that loops constantly, your resting point being the campfire.
In the loop, you'll encounter enemies and auto-fight them. If you kill them, they'll drop gear and tiles. Tiles will shape the environment of the stage. For instance, you could get a Mountain tile, a Marsh tile, a Forest tile, a Vampire Mansion tile, etc.
And all of these tiles have different effects, some can stack, and they all add something new to the loop, making it either more challenging or a bit easier for you (for example, if they give you health).
It might sound boring and repetitive, but it's genuinely fun, and things can get very crowded and whacky, but you can also get some sick gear. Now, once you exit the loop, you're transported to a hub where you can build settlements and upgrade them with materials that you've picked up in the loop. Because yes, most tiles will grant resources (mountains will give rocks, forests will give you wood, etc).
So yeah, I really enjoyed this! It's fun, it's gorgeous to look at, it's got a LOT of depth to it and I only scratched the surface, and the variety there is in terms of tiles and encounters is really cool. The demo seems to be available all the time so I recommend you check this out, it's really fun to play.
