To enable the game console.

Open the file c:\users\username\my documents\klei\donotstarve\settings.ini

Change the line
ENABLECONSOLE = false
to
ENABLECONSOLE = true

While playing don't starve press tilde (~) to get the console.

To activate console commands type:

RunScript("consolecommands")

All console commands are case sensitive. To turn off the console log press Left-Ctrl + L.

At the console type:

c_godmode()

You will get god mode and hunger, health, or sanity will not decrease. You don't even have to light a fire at night to survive.

*Update*5/04/2014
God mode turns off when you go through a worm hole or visit a cave. To re-enable god mode, you must restart the game application and type the console commands again.

A better option is to use this mod.

This mod gives you an option to re-spawn at the spot of your death and prevents the save file from being deleted.
