Pumping music for this map. Method's DSDA record here 08:39 looked solid, but I could spot a few loss of time and room for a better ammo management. I gave a try and I immediately got sub 9minutes exits, but it was hard to predict where enemies were the most dangerous/ slow in spawning, and which were the key moments where to use rockets. Despite the large quantity of cells in the level, rockets are somewhat scarce. I started to appreciate much more RL in comparison to plasma, because of the splash damage. And there are many situations when you MUST be fast in wiping Archviles for example. The idea to let alive the first cyber to have him infighting with the cacos and humans appearing after keyswitches is insane, even tho in a TAS-run it might be nice time-wise. Running out of armour is easy in the first part, so I saved the megasphere for the second wave of enemies @ the bluekey switch. Getting it earlier was most of the time a bad choice. In this case I had a "fair" luck with the monsters killing each other in front of the exit, but it varies very much. Sometimes the cyber survives, sometimes he dies very fast and you have to face 25+ monsters alive then.. In such cases, I just quitted and restarted. HUD came handy here, because some monsters may be a bit slow in spawning. I decided to go straight for the switches and keys and then checking if everything was killed, because it resulted much better. The 3 archviles spawning at the red door were also tricky. I managed to let the chaingunner hit and get close the spiders, so that the other 2 coming from the back could not resurrect them... which would be terrible for the speedrun. Every rocket is precious, and finding a corner to save from the fire hits allows even more resurrecting. I was surprised to get a sub7, since my previous exit was 08:09. Tried a dozen of attempts more, but it wasnt easy to get attempts which could improve this any further, so I'm done for now. Quite a kick for the old time btw. And probably the least hardworked record of Method here ;) I may try the others.
