id Software is going to release Doom 3 BFG Edition around October 19th (according to Amazon.com, the 16th). It will be released on the PC, Playstation3, and XBox360.

Features:
Comes with Doom 1, Doom 2, Resurrection of Evil expansion pack, and 7 new levels.
Adds an armor-mounted flash-light, check-point save system, and improved rendering and lighting.

Concerns:
Will it be Linux compatible?
Will check-points be the only way to save?
