An early alpha release of a mod that looks promising. Download here: http://www.moddb.com/mods/hallowed-mod/downloads/hallowed-mod-alpha-release

The level is small, but has some interesting challenges - navigating through the collapsed area and finding a way to defeat groups of enemies at the end.

The design doesn't have much detail, but despite that it manages to capture feel of the location, atmosphere, which is more important in the end as detailed location without atmosphere wouldn't entertain the player and all decorating efforts would go to waste.

Unexpected collapse of the area is a very exciting event. Brilliant work was done on hiding that - the geometry doesn't look stitched together or anything in any way, so the destruction takes us by surprise. Destruction itself reminds of similar things from Hexen and Duke3d games, and when we finish the level we'll get a spectacular camera view like in Quake1 and Quake2. These two nostalgic moments are also very welcome.

This alpha version, unfortunately, suffers from lack of the detail on the terrain that surrounds the building and lack of proper thought put in the last area. As a result, you'll get stuck if you won't play it how the author intended.

But despite these flaws, the alpha version looks really promising, and I look forward to the final mod. When we get proper terrain with texture blending and decorative objects such as trees, plants and rocks, properly playtested third area, more interesting levels and actual development of the story which would explain those flying bricks and the hero's "Is this really the end?" wondering, it's going to be awesome.
