It's a good concept, but it's really badly executed. And it looks shit too.

What we have here is an attempt at a puzzle. A completely shit puzzle that takes little effort to solve once you notice the 'main room' is completely blocked off and your only weapon is about as effective as pissing against a tsunami.

At least it's a good example of a software renderer bug/limitation though; so long as you can see a floor/ceiling flat, it won't obscure any objects regardless of how far deep they've gone into the surface itself. In other words, you can see a sprite in its entirety until the lower/upper texture of a moving sector crosses the middle of the screen.
