Description:
For the final level of the Doom 1 episodes you need to kill some boss monsters to trigger the exit. E2M8 and E3M8 you only finish the level after the cyberdemon and spidermastermind are dead, but for E1M8 the walls are lowered allowing you to reach the exit area. Previously it's been discovered that with the aid of a monster you can go out of bounds and reach the death exit in the void, however, with the -nomonsters parameter there are no monsters. So with no boss monsters to trigger the lowering wall and no demon to help you outside of the map, is it possible to exit the level? well, now the answer is yes.

By running through the wall you can finish the map normally, which is to go through the teleporter on the platform in the outer area that takes you too a room where the floor will do damage to you and the level if finished once your health drops low enough.

While this can be done by random chance, I here use an incredibly precise position. Doomguy for example is 32x32 units wide, a regular imp or shotgunner is also 32x32 units wide. Within 1 square unit there is a total of 2^32 (4.294.967.296) different possible posititons you can occupy. Simply pressing walk forward a single time will move you nearly 8 units, so I use some movement techniques I've come up with to manage to get to a specific initial position (336.000000,1056.006073), then do a specific input to put me in coordinate (342.947586,1058.494125) which with a certain angle and normal straferunning will allow me to just run through the wall every time. So the time I spend looking into the wall I am actually moving extremely slowly to try and get into the correct position. Of course there are plenty of different specific positions where the trick will work, but this is one of them that I found by using a program to brute force attempts to get through.

If you aren't familiar with void glides (which is very similar to what I do here) I suggest watching a video by Karl Jobst on them found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wWe8g8R7ZKI

Thanks for watching.
