E1M8 comparison is not relevant. E1M1-E1M7 time is improved by 1 seconds.

E1M8 is not counted towards the episode record, so record time is 4:48, even though the full episode is 6:16. The reason M8 is not included is because dos version does not display the time for the final map. Even though that is no longer relevant as sourceports can determine the time, the convention is still kept.

Also did a run with the void glide on E1M8 for a faster total time (5m31s) found here: https://youtu.be/5aQ_7wD5rvg

Description:
A 1 second improvement over the previous record by Dwaze.

Had a look at my comments for ep1-451, could almost copy them here and most of it would make sense. Anyways not much new to the route, the only notable change was some differently placed rocket on E1M6. I tried to get through E1M5 yellow key door without using the rocket launcher for the majority of my attempts, not a single time did it work out well. So mostly it's just some adjustments to rocket use.

No idea what times I had on from the last time I did episode 1, so comments are based on recent attempts.
E1M1: Always exit with 12 seconds here. Usually it's all about hitting the first switch quickly, killing the shotgunner in 2-4 hits and not getting blocked by the following shotgunner.

E1M2: 23 seconds is a good time, only once did I manage to get 22 seconds. It's not that difficult to get 22 with the current method for the ending room and if you get the door open at the start, I just didn't manage to combine them very often.

E1M3: Pretty good time, I've had a 39 here, so 41 isn't bad considering how much shit can block you.

E1M4: 16.00, best time I've had for these attempts, the door usually doesn't open immediately so I don't have a chance on 15. Depr4vity has a nice method here for pressing the switch and getting up the elevator, but again because of the door it just doesn't work out most the time for me.

E1M5: Finally I got to the elevator quickly, 1:03 is the best time I've had on this level during these attempts which is really disappointing, 0:55 or something is possible if everything is perfect. This is by far the most difficult map in the run. However I had far more success after switching to using rockets on the pinkies after yellow key door. Also I fire an extra rocket on the exit room pinkies if I manage to grab the one right before the exit. I like how Dwaze shoots at the pinky demon by the yellow key, injuring or killing it for the time you have to run past it is really nice, but my start here was horrible and the pinky ran off.

E1M6: I hope to get around 57 seconds here, I knew had to push the time. Messed up the final room because I forgot about the last shotgunner by the switch. 1:00 isn't the worst but it's a bit disappointing, best time I had was a 56. Previously I would fire a few rockets to clear out the hallway to the exit area, but clearing out the imps by the door with a rocket I found myself able to get past without getting blocked most the time, so I use the rockets elsewhere.

E1M7: I fully expect to get 1:15 on this level if it goes well, I knew I had to get some crazy good time. My previous personal best had a 1:12, don't think I ever had a 1:13 or 1:14 during these or previous attempts, so 1:13 is still incredible. This was the only run I had that still had potential to be a record, so I'm pretty happy I got the luck I needed on basically the last level.

E1M8: Doesn't matter, void glide and succeed or reset if you want a good e1m1-e1m8 time. Failing the last jump was unnecessary though.

Still room for improvement.
