Demonastery is a single-level wad for Doom II created by Nootrac4571 (with music by Jimmy Paddock). It was released in October 2018 and one of the runner-ups at that year's Cacowards, which is where I heard of this map. The map became one of my favorites, in part due to the cool visuals and awesome music (check out the music on Jimmy's channel here:    • "THE THAUMATURGE" - Original MIDI son...  ), but also because the gameplay strikes a good balance for me; not too difficult but also not too easy not too long but also not too short, interesting layout without getting too confusing, etc.

I recorded this demo yesterday, which was my first exit on Ultraviolence difficulty (I've mostly played this map on Hurt Me Plenty). The beginning is probably the part I struggled with the most; even in this run I got off to a pretty bad start in the SSG room. After getting a solid footing I think the rest isn't as difficult, though there are still some challenging sections (such as the red key room) sprinkled throughout, and health management was a bigger factor than I expected. I was getting pretty nervous towards the end, which you can see with my really inefficient BFG usage on the cyberdemon! Cyberdemons always make me nervous when I don't have enough hitpoints to take a direct hit, and additionally I had gotten up to that final room once or twice before and died there, so I was anxious to pull through this time.
