Hell won't know what hit them. Doom is such a big name that the entire world should know the game series, and the 1994 release of the sequel to Doom would give the series its sharp teeth and claws. Alongside Doom, Doom II was give a classic unity port in 2019. The story takes place after the events of the original 3 episodes of Doom where we find Hell has invaded Earth and its up to us to save not just humanity itself but stop a demonic gatekeeper.

Doom II introduces new monsters such as the Chaingunner, Arch Vile, Hell Knight and Revenant while adding a new weapon, the SSG or Super shotgun. Doom 2 is notable for having the earliest city levels prior to Build engine games and their city levels. The gameplay engine itself remains the same with again the unity port having somewhat washed out visuals vs a source port or DOS Box.

Doom II itself is a step up in difficulty vs the original Doom and its 4rth episode Thy Flesh Consumed with more enemies placed down and designs that were made to trick unweary players, there's more thought put into run jumps to reach secrets and as look is locked to straight ahead it gave me flashbacks of keyboard only Doom II in the Doom Collector's Edition.

There are some parts I'm not wild about with "Industrial Zone", "The Citadel", "Nirvana", and "Bloodfalls" being weak levels nowadays, and the Icon of Sin battle is a coin toss for me at times. Sometimes I get lucky and avoid having *Fucking* pain elementals or arch-viles on me, other times? Telefrag or FAR too many enemies to get beaten up by while facing the Icon of Sin. Still like the Doom unity port, Doom II on console is something that to me, is a thing of beauty.
