Phobos IV Complete Playthrough
1https://www.moddb.com/mods/phobos-iv I've got many mods to go over and also ones that will only work on the steam version of Half-Life, but it feels so good to actually be able to play good old WON retail CD-Rom half life.
This mod was released in 2002 and is Pavel Koten, The story involves a virus affecting the world and we're sent to an abandoned space station named Phobos IV to locate the cure needed. The default weapon we get is the Team Fortress Classic shotgun and sounds were used from a multiplayer mod named The Wastes. Our only other weapon is a strange looking gauss gun.
The mapping makes for a believable space station back in 2002 with corridors that are lined with circuitry and more, crew quarters etc. We fight mostly vortigaunts who take more damage then normal, and also do more damage.. There is NO batteries in this mod so taking any damage without knowing where health stations are is certain death.
Phobos IV's score is greatly hurt by one of the *WORST* boss battles I've seen in a mod: A gonarch which will require as much gauss ammo as you can get as the arena has NO ammo whatsoever there and death often comes because of being smacked by the Gonarch's legs or pelted by too many baby headcrabs.. I hated it so much. Its a decent coffee break mod.
