Part 1
In this video I point out some possibly future / out of time references & connections between British author Roald Dahl (Charlie And The Chocolate Factory), actor / director Dexter Fletcher & the FPS video game series Doom.
Fletcher had a role in the 2005 Doom movie adaptation alongside Dwayne Johnson & Rosamund Pike.
The title of Guy Ritchie's 1998 crime film Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels sounds like a future Doom nod (players of this game become familiar with the imagery of a double barreled shotgun). Fletcher had a part in this with Jason Statham & Vinnie Jones.
The most destructive weapon in the early Doom games is the BFG 9000.
The BFG was also the title of a 1982 book by writer Roald Dahl.
A link between Dexter Fletcher & Roald Dahl may be a 2008 episode of BBC TV drama Hotel Baylon (2006-2009). Fletcher played Tony the concierge in this series. (S.3 E.6) sees actor John Barrowman guest-star as a fictional director. He has to film a romantic comedy in the hotel while keeping his cast happy.
Barrowman is known to Doctor Who audiences as Captain Jack Harkness. He starred in the Who science-fiction TV spinoff Torchwood.
-The headquarters of the fictional Torchwood team is beneath the Roald Dahl Plass in Cardiff, Wales.
