1https://www.doomworld.com/idgames/levels/doom2/Ports/megawads/joymaps1 Now, We're jumping into speedmaps and also wads that were made to showcase mapping, I've found a large cache of speedmaps "sessions" on Doomworld such as Pigeon's Speedmapping, SargeBaldy's Speedmapping, The Abysmal Speedmapping Seesions and this 6 part series led by James Paddock (Jimmy) Which was inspired by The Joy of Painting featuring Bob Ross, It's a series of wads that were livesteamed between 2016 and 2018 to showcase new mapper talent with Jimmy and several others through Discord and TwitchTV, We all have to learn someway right?
This first edition of "The Joy Of Mapping" was released on August 1rst 2016, Included within it are 15 maps, each one by a different author, and this is where I'll step back to say, That one day I'll be tackling the Abysmal Speed mapping Sessions as a special for this series, but not now, since there are so many to choose from. The mapping of each of these maps can be bare in areas and ammo placement is a bit rough but I'd say the mappers that were included did cut their teeth in trying to be a mapper.
