Doom Wads/Mods #5:ASCrcade wad
0This wad I found on the doomworld I.D. wad archive and I wasn't sure what to think about it, It's an map 01 replacement and appears to be an tribute to arcade game rooms including an Doom 3 reference, an old Atari 2600 game and an old NES game from the 1980's and despite it's short length it did get my interest.
There are 3 Arcade machines, Super Turbo Turkey Puncher 3, Pong, and "DooM Hunt" An parody of Duck Hunt, The main highlight is with Doom hunt you shoot lost souls with an plastic pistol so the cacodemon can get the lost soul, Like Duck hunt if you miss the Cacodemon laughs like the Dog, Super Turbo Turkey Puncher 3 isn't much, You press the use key until you kill the Turkey and it repeats endlessly while Pong uses the use key to work the paddle but it's not very fun.
This wad is an minor coffee mod and I enjoyed it a lot however I believe the author of the wad could later off if they do update, add more machines as it will wear out it's welcome after an while if you hand was like mine after two hours on Doom hunt...
