A playthrough of Tradewest's 1994 Super Nintendo versus-fighter, Double Dragon V: The Shadow Falls.

Played through on the pro difficulty level with Sekka. Character-specific fatalities are done on every character (activated by hitting them with a particular punch or kick to finish the winning round).

Oh man, why did they have to number this game? It really doesn't deserve to be a part of the canon series. Even if you completely disregard the quality of the game in comparison to the rest of the series, it's not even in the same genre. Odd.

Anyways, it's not awful by any means. It's much more competent than many of the other SNES fighters, but it feels weird - the characters feel "heavy" during a lot of their moves, with timings that are a bit counterintuitive after playing so many similar games. It takes some practice, but the movs are easy to pull off, and there are some interesting things going on with the graphics. The soundtrack is probably the best part, but then, Tradewest's games usually were pretty good in their presentation.
