We must defeat the -Dwarves- darkspawn! In this video on Dragon Age: Origins, we get to the largest and perhaps most detailed part of the game, the dwarven kingdom of Orzammar. Attention to detail is unreal. There's quite a lot of content, and as this is a plot analysis, I can't go into too many asides. But we get detail on the darkspawn, dwarven culture, a political conflict, an underground crime syndicate, and a whole lot of fighting in a well lit undergrown universe. The beautiful thing is most main characters explain or show their motivation for doing what they're doing (Oghren, Prince Bhelen, Harrowmont, etc.) We even get to meet the Legion of the dead. I might even argue this world building rivals, or is at least larger and greater than that of Klingon culture.

Oh, and we finally get to see the archdemon.

Plenty of golemns, beasts, giant spiders, and darkspawn to slaughter.

I can see why many players love the dwarven origins stories.

Oh yeah; we get to talk to some deranged cannibalistic ghouls and a giant broodmother who generates one flavor of darkspawn. All the while a disembodied narrator voice tells us a nursery rhyme about cannibalism, regurgitation, rape, violence, obsession and fear. Dark fantasy indeed. (It's the creepiest part of the game.) Aren't children's crèche's beautiful?

Oh, and Robin Sachs is Harrowmont. And that other guy is in FFVII.

And that's how baby -dwarves- darkspawn are made. Gah!
