Square Enix is currently undergoing a significant organizational restructuring, and it appears that Dragon Quest has been affected by this shift.

According to a recent report from Bloomberg, Yu Miyake, the veteran producer of Dragon Quest who has been instrumental in the development of numerous titles in the franchise over the years, will be stepping down from his role. Miyake, who is now 56 years old, has decided to transition to leading Square Enix's smart game division based in Tokyo. He first joined the company in 1992.

In Miyake's place, it is rumored that Yosuke Saito, the 53-year-old producer known for his work on the NieR series, will assume the position. Sources cited by Bloomberg indicate that Saito is a strong contender for the role, given his past experience as a producer on Dragon Quest titles, including the acclaimed Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age.
