Previously, the party explored the Tower of the Moon south of Slewse and acquired the Moonshard. They used the Moonshard to enter the Sea Cave southwest of Dirkandor. In the Sea Cave, they found the Shrine of the Great Conflagration and found the Evil Idol. They also did some grinding. Now, they will use the Evil Idol to enter the Road to Rendarak, one of the most convoluted dungeons in the entire series.
The party resumes in Midenhall. They Zoom to Zahan. They sail south from there to the shrine northeast of Midenhall. They talk to the priest there, who has information about using the False Idol to gain entry to Rendarak.
Afterwards, the party Zooms to Beran, the town on the large southwestern island. The party visits the bank. They put away some nonessential stuff. They take out the Eye of Rubiss. They also withdraw a couple of Prayer Rings, which may come in handy. They rest at the inn.
In the church, they open the Jailor's Key door to the north. The damage floors are nasty, so they use Safe Passage. Past the damage floors, they find a teleportal.
The party takes this teleportal to a shrine west of Burrowell. In the northeast corner of the shrine, they find a Seed of Agility. They give it to Isolde of Moonbrooke. Upstairs in the shrine, a priest provides some information. Back on the first floor, the shrine's exit is two tiles south of the teleportal. There is a Gremlin outside.
Outside the shrine, the party goes west and talks to a spirit. In this version of the game, the spirit will block their progress if they have not acquired what they need to progress.
At the western end of the valley, there is poisonous marsh at the base of the mountains. In the marsh, the party faces the northern mountains and uses the False Idol. The entry to the Road to Rendarak appears!
The party enters the Road to Rendarak. Look out for dangerous enemy groups. A formation of three or four Green Dragons can wipe out a party of any level with concerted fire breath attacks.
Here on floor 1F, there are a few pitfalls to the basement. The pitfalls are hidden until the party steps on them. The party drops down one to floor B1, where there is some toxic marsh. In the southeast of B1, a chest contains a Seed of Strength. Davilas of Midenhall uses this. Note that in prior versions of the game, this is where the Life Crest is found.
The party returns to 1F. They use the southeast stairway leading up to floor 2F. 2F loops infinitely in all four directions. The party goes south one screen to an identical room. Then, they go east to a long hallway. They go to the third crossing and go south. They take the stairway there up to 3F.
Floor 3F is a fairly straightforward corridor. From the start, the party follows the main corridor southwest. In the second room to the north, they find a chest containing a Tombola Ticket.
At the southeast end of the corridor, the party goes upstairs to a room on 4F. They take the next stairs up to a room on 5F. They open a chest for Erdrick's Armour! Only Davilas of Midenhall can equip this, so he does.
The party backtracks down to floor 3F. From the stairway where they originally reached this floor, they go west across a hallway to a corridor. There, they take out a Liquid Metal Slime! Three cheers for the Prince of Cannock!
At Level 29, Thomas of Cannock learns the spell Kazing. Kazing resurrects a dead ally with full HP. In prior versions of this game, I think he got the weaker spell, Zing, which has a 50% failure rate.
The party ascends the western stairway to floor 4F. They continue up to 5F. They open the chest on 5F for a Mad Cap. Thomas of Cannock or Isolde of Moonbrooke can equip this. It reduces the cost of spells for the equipped character by 25%. Thomas of Cannock equips it for now.
The party returns down to 3F. They exit to the main hallway and begin following it north. In the next room to the east, they find a chest containing ca. 1,300 gold.
At the northern end of the hall, the party follows the path leading west. To the southwest, they go up a stairway to floor 4F and then up again to 5F.
On 5F, the party goes south. In the room to the west, they open the two chests for ca. 580 gold and a Thanatos' Shield. The Thanatos' Shield is cursed, so do not equip it.
The party backtracks down to 3F. This time, from the northern end of the hallway, they head east. They go upstairs to 4F and continue up to 5F.
The description is continued in the comments.
