Previously, the party escaped from Purgatory Island thanks to some golden thinking from High Priest Rolo. Now, they must hunt down Marcello. According to party chat from King Trode, Marcello is getting inaugurated as Lord High Priest in Neos.
After resuming, the party puts the Beast Claw they obtained from Sir Leopold into Morrie's inventory. That will help against beast-type enemies.
The party Zooms to Neos (time 1:32). Note that the Darktree Leaf is pointing here.
After some party chat, they enter Neos (time 3:08). They reexplore town. If you still have to take photos or raid treasures here, now is the time.
The party visits the item shop (time 5:42). They pick up 9 Gold Rosaries for 500 gold apiece in case they need them in the future.
A scene takes place when the party enters the northern shrine (time 17:13). That Marcello is quite the speaker, isn't he? He even has some valid points. Unfortunately, considering what he has done already, I seriously doubt his motives. With a little help from the fledgling Godbird, the party reaches his high, exalted platform.
After the scene, it is finally, finally boss time against Marcello (time 22:59). Like most bosses in this stage of the game, Marcello can act twice in a round. He also has the irritating Disruptive Wave. His attack power is high, like Sir Leopold's, but he does not seem to get criticals. He can cast Kafrizzle and use Wind Sickles for middling damage. He can cast Thwack in an attempt to kill multiple party members instantly. His strongest attack is Pearly Gates, which can deal about 140 points of damage to everyone. Marcello can heal with Midheal.
Since he has Disruptive Wave and is not afraid to use it, don't waste too much effort buffing the party. On the other hand, the Timbrel of Tension is quite useful, if you have made it. Morrie's tension-boosting abilities can also be helpful. Multiheal is imperative, especially if the protagonist does not know Omniheal yet. Use your best attacks and best weapons, and Marcello should fall in time. With the right abilities, Marcello's Midheal should only be a minor annoyance.
In the end, the party defeats Marcello (time 30:57). Davilas reaches Level 38. He obtains 8 skill points. He puts them into Swords for a total of 10. At 4 points in Swords, he learns basic sword fighting techniques, becomes a Basic Sword Fighter, and learns the trait Attack +5 with Sword Equipped. At 9 points in Swords, he becomes a Proficient Swordsman and learns the ability Dragon Slash, which deals extra damage to dragon-type enemies. Useful. Angelo reaches Level 37. He obtains 7 skill points. He puts them into Charisma for a total of 73.
A scene takes place after the battle (time 32:09). Unfortunately, defeating Marcello has some serious consequences.
In the next scene, Neos's landscape changes dramatically (time 34:13).
Then, we return to the party in Neos (time 36:34). There is a scene involving Marcello and Angelo. Marcello gives the party his Templar Captain's Ring. This is the last we see of Marcello in the PS2 version. Does that still hold true in the 3DS version?
After these excellent scenes, we regain control of the party in what's left of Neos (time 40:34).
The party Zooms to the Hilltop Hut (time 42:35).
When they get some sleep, Davilas has another dream conversation with Medea (time 42:58). She has things to say about Rhapthorne and about the future. In the morning, the party saves.
Next time, the party will begin hunting for treasures that have appeared along with the Black Citadel. Additionally, a couple of optional dungeons are now available.
Thanks for watching!
