Previously, in the town of Homura, Davilas and Camus met Veronica, a little girl in red. She is looking for her younger sister, Senya, who is in a monster lair far to the west of town. Another little girl named Ruko is also missing her father. Now, the party will head west to that monster lair.

Along the way west, the party gathers some ingredients.

Far to the northwest of Homura, the party finds the entrance to the Wilderness Labyrinth (time 2:26). They arrive on level B1 of the labyrinth. The Drolls from the original Dragon Quest finally put in a reappearance in this area. Look out for pitfalls that will dump the party to level B2.

At the first intersection, the party can turn west to find a farming spot for Iron Ore (time 3:54).

A little farther along, as the party approaches a chest, they find a pitfall to the southern part of B2 (time 5:31). Oh, dear. There is a door leading north, but it is locked.

In the south, the party finds a ladder leading back up to B1 (time 6:20).

To the northwest, they find a root of the Tree of Life (time 6:55). It plays back grainy Tree of Life video showing a Shadow going north. The Shadow points out the location of a trap floor.

In the south of the western corridor, a chest contains 1,000 Gold (time 8:09). Cha-ching!

Then, the party deliberately drops down a trap floor west of the root of the Tree of Life (time 8:30). They arrive in the northern part of B2.

They arrive in the southwestern dead end next to a chest with a Feathered Cap (time 8:34).

Along the western wall of the large northern room, another chest contains 2 Gold Chunks (time 8:53).

Also, there is a shiny Skullrider in this area (time 9:08). When it is defeated, the party can ride its mount (time 9:55).

On the main corridor to the south, the party can unlock the door leading to the southern section of B2 (time 11:19). This will help in case they need to make a return trip.

In the northwest, there is a farming spot for Iron Ore (time 12:45).

Also, in the northwest, there are monster footprints ascending the wall (time 12:49). With a Skullrider's mount, they can climb the wall here to level B1.

In the dead end in the east of B1, there is a chest containing Mini Medal #007 (time 14:30).

On the northern side of the pitfall in the eastern corridor, there is a chest containing Thief's Gloves (time 14:59). This is a good goodie for Camus.

West of the entrance to the room with a priest symbol, a chest contains a Silver Platter (time 16:37).

Then, the party goes through the door to the room with the priest symbol (time 16:52). As they enter, they observe a fountain. They also find a girl lying unconscious on the floor. Fortunately, she is all right. This turns out to be Veronica's "little" sister, Senya ... but Senya is a good bit bigger than she is! She came here in search of Veronica. Veronica had been held here. She looks like a child because the monsters abducted her and sucked out her magical powers. Time to help her get them back! Senya will now join as another guest character.

Before continuing, the party can use the goddess fountain to recover HP and MP (time 19:48). They can also save here.

North of the goddess fountain, they locate another root of the Tree of Life (time 20:26). It shows the same Shadow as before, uttering a password to get through the door to the north. How convenient!

To the north, the party examines the door (time 22:18). When they speak the password, the door opens. They open it a little bit so they can spy on the occupants. The boss of the monsters here is a Jargon named Denda. He is bent on energizing the Demon King with power that they have sucked out of people and stored in a jar. Unfortunately, while the party is spying, another Shadow comes and blows their cover!

After the scene, the party must battle Denda and his three Denda's Followers (time 20:45). It is best to deal with Denda's Followers first. Denda's Followers can cast the ice spell Crack. Denda's most damaging attack is cold breath, which can deal about 40 points of damage to each party member. The easy part of this battle is that Senya and Veronica are along as guests. They will be low-maintenance. Senya will help the party with Heal and Buff, and Veronica can throw out items.
