Previously, the party did some more quests in Muurea and Shikesubia. Now, they will do one more quest in Grotta and begin gambling at the Roulette tables.

After resuming, the party zooms to Grotta (time 1:00).

To get the quest to appear, the party must talk to a little girl standing south of the entrance to the Casino (time 1:55). She speaks of a benefactor named Beshim in the Casino and then offers Davilas a present. If he accepts, she gives him 3,000 Gold! That's a lofty present from such a young lady. She says that Beshim is at the Special Roulette Stage on the third floor of the Casino.

A bunny girl waits at the entrance to the Casino (time 2:58). She asks if Davilas wants to go in for some gambling. Well, certainly!

The party heads up into the Grotta Casino (time 3:22). Along the southwestern part of the main ring, they will find their old friend, Humphrey. What's up, Humph? I wonder what happened to him while the arena was under Boogie's control.

They go upstairs to the Special Roulette Stage (time 4:17).

On the lower level east of the stage, one of the barrels contains a Yugunoa Gold Coin (time 4:49).

The party finds Beshim sitting at the red roulette table in the middle of the room (time 5:13). Beshim offers Quest 43: "Benefactor Beshim's Challenge" ("成金ベシムの挑戦状"). He challenges Davilas to earn a jackpot from a roulette table on the floor. Challenge accepted! Before he will offer this quest, the party must accept the present from the girl outside the Casino.

The game's autosave feature makes it very easy to recover from gambling losses, as I showed at the Sorutiko Casino early in the game. The party first autosaves by leaving the floor and then returning (time 6:24).

There are a few levels of roulette tables available. The most lucrative is obviously the red table, which allows the party to bet in 200-token increments (time 6:51). They can bet up to 2,000 tokens on a single spot and on most lines and corners. Where was this table in Dragon Quest VIII? What's more, this machine has 37 squares, while DQ8's machine has 28. My strategy is to cover one third of the table with tokens, as far as current funds will allow. When the party loses too much, I quit the game from the main PS4 menu, restart, and reload.

After a few tries, the party wins 126,000 tokens (time 16:11). To coat squares 1-12 with tokens, they need at least 86,000 tokens. 88,000 if they put tokens on the chest.

Next, they score a lucky Jackpot (time 18:30). To get a Jackpot, the ball has to stop in a square that the party has bet on and line up with the Jackpot symbol at the top. The party is showered with a stupid number of tokens: 1,186,000. This satisfies Beshim's challenge.

After quitting, the party earns some accolades (time 19:35). They earn one for scoring a Roulette Jackpot, "Lucky Star" for earning over 500,000 tokens, and "Gamble King" for earning over 1 million tokens.

They report in to Beshim (time 20:04). He rewards them with the Lucky Vest, which appears to increase item drop rate. Very good! Quest 43 complete!

Then, they visit the Grotta Casino prize counter (time 21:32). One of the best offerings is also one of the least expensive: Sage's Elixirs at 1,000 tokens a pop. MP should never be a problem again! The party picks up a recipe that costs 5,000 tokens. They also grab a counter that costs 30,000 tokens. Of note is the supply of Happy Hats at 300,000 tokens apiece. The party also picks up the Gringham Whip, which costs 750,000 tokens. Pricey, but it is an excellent upgrade for Sylvia.

Next, the party zooms to Sorutiko (time 24:19). They visit the Sorutiko Casino counter (time 25:54). New offerings are available beginning halfway down the second page. The party picks up the recipe book for butterfly-themed equipment at 1,000 tokens. Of note is the Angel's Soma at 30,000 tokens. The party picks up the Metal Slime Sword at 250,000 tokens for Davilas. The Liquid Metal Helm at 500,000 tokens will be a superior option for Davilas, Camus, Sylvia, Greg, and even Senya. WIth the purchases concluded, the party is left with a little over 179,000 tokens.

The party zooms back to Grotta (time 27:09). Next time, they will continue rolling the roulette wheels to earn tokens for the Liquid Metal Helms.
