This is video #09 in my Dragon Warrior III playthrough. From Romaly, the party takes a short stroll north to the village of Kanave in the mountains. The village is pretty tough to miss, but the encounter rate on hills makes getting there a hassle. This area seems to be a take-off on the Alps.

When the party reaches Kanave (time index 6:48), they gather information about the Tower of Shanpane and an item called the Poison Needle. The equipment shop has the Fighter's Claw, a weapon for Alyssa, the Fighter. The Killer Bees around Kanave can inflict Numb, so it is a good idea to have a Full Moon Herb or two if you plan to hunt around here.

There is also information about a sleeping village out there somewhere. Interesting.

After their initial exploration of the village, they go out and do some hunting. When they come back at night (time index 10:34), they can get at those tempting treasure chests in the Item Shop. One contains a worthless Club, but the other contains a Poison Needle, a nice weapon for the Wizard. It has low attack power, but it can pierce an enemy's vital spot and fell it in one hit.

In the graveyard, the party can talk with the ghost of a great warrior.

After they rest, Angelo the Pilgrim reaches Level 11 quickly (time index 13:25 - 13:48) and learns Surround, which lowers enemies' accuracy.

When they have the funds, they buy an Iron Claw for Alyssa (time index 14:33). A definite improvement.

A little later, Heorot the Hero reaches Level 10 (time index 15:06 - 15:51). Before long, Jessica the Wizard reaches Level 11 (time index 16:36 - 17:08) and learns the explosive Bang.

After a few minutes, the party goes back into town to get Alyssa a Fighting Suit (time index 17:50).

After a few minutes, Alyssa reaches Level 11 (time index 18:57 - 19:20).

A few minutes later, Heorot trades in his Bronze Shield for an Iron Shield (time index 19:58).

After several minutes, Angelo reaches Level 12 (time index 21:19 - 22:01) and learns Antidote, which purges Poison from a party member. A couple of minutes later, Heorot reaches Level 11 (time index 22:46 - 23:29) and learns Firebal. Soon, Jessica reaches Level 12 (time index 24:13 - 24:47) and learns Slow.

Back in town, the party picks up a nice piece of Half Plate Armor for Heorot (time index 26:01). In the next video, the party will head north to investigate that sleeping village.
