Dreamworks Animation’s “Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted” - 2012 Blu-ray Review
This is a review of the 2012 Blu-ray of Dreamworks Animation’s “Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted.” As the name implies, this is the third film installment in Dreamworks Animation’s “Madagascar” franchise. With the first one being the original “Madagascar” from 2005, and the second one being “Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa,” which was released in 2008. The film follows Alex, Marty, Melman and Gloria as they are abandoned in Africa by the Penguins (Kowalski, Rico, Skipper and Private.) The penguins are going for a gambling spree with the Chimpanzees in Monaco. After something unexpected occurs at the casino in Monaco, a ruthless animal control officer who would love to have the head of a lion on display in he office, tries to track down the team. After landing in France, the team comes upon a group of circus animals consisting of a jaguar, a sea lion, and a tiger. This film was distributed by Paramount Pictures to positive reviews by critics, such as Richard Corliss of Time Magazine and Bill Zwecker of the Chicago Times. Will Alex, Marty, Melman and Gloria be able to escape this rightness animal control officer, or will Alex become a trophy.
