I wanted to try the torch in the beginning, but I remembered a stronger torch existing in the DLC so I went for that instead seeing that either won't have much play otherwise. The boss being weak to strike and fire damage makes it a great choice. I don't know how to navigate the fight optimally in the start, but thankfully this boss worked out quickly considering how hectic the initial hollow gank is.

Next should be Abyss Watchers for real this time.
