My Description:

This Let's Play of "Ys: The Oath in Felghana" is on Nightmare difficulty, albeit with higher levels and/or equipment than time attack conditions. Unlike previous Ys let's plays, I voiced over successful boss attempts because of the concentration required to win, meaning I can't come up with commentary on the fly. The videos will also show my first attempt for every boss, just to show how much I improved from my first attempt to my successful attempt.

When redheaded thrill-seeker Adol Christin and his eternal blue-haired companion Dogi make an unannounced visit to Dogi's homeland of Felghana after an eight-year absence, it quickly becomes apparent that things have changed dramatically. For this last stretch of Valestein Castle, you have to navigate the gears of the clocktower while fighting off the strongest of the mutated knights. The last enemy room has nothing but the slow and strong knights, making it ideal to grind using earth magic.

As usual, he's immune to your magic and will use instant movement after half HP. He also has some new moves, such as a sonic boom counterattack if you attack him from the front, or a tornado of light that is incredibly hard to avoid without earth magic. After his thrust attack, he'll have a damaging force field for a few moments that can screw up your opportunity to attack. I heard that it's possible to attack just outside its range, but it's really tough.

Whatever you do, don't waste a Spirit Necklace on the unwinnable Garland fight. I heard that someone actually did that.
