Well, well hey there folks and fellow YouTubers, and welcome to part 9 of my walkthrough for the MS-DOS version of the very original Doom as I demon-blast my way through the very last map of the entire first episode of Knee-Deep In The Dead called Phobos Anomaly AKA E1M8 and this is a rather unique level in the game at least compared to the other ones we have blasted our way through thus far as there are two secret areas in this level one official and one unofficial and there are four enemies in this level altogether two of which are pinky demons and two of which are a breed of demon we have not encountered yet but I will reveal that to you guys in the video itself as to avoid spoilers that is I should say for you guys that have never played this game before at least not in a while anyway.

You will also notice we don't need to grab any keys to exit this level as well why the creators of this level did that I have no real clue but I am guessing it has to do again with the fact that it's the very last map of this entire game's first episode and the level also does not end in any way that all the other levels prior to it end but you will find that out of course near the end of the video as it does require the use of a switch we need to activate but just not in the way we have again seen in the past levels thus far as the method in which we leave this level is via a demonic-teleporter, perhaps one either created or at least morphed and changed by the demons themselves but again you will find that all out in the video itself.

Now as to my own thoughts on this specific map in the game well I will go ahead and say I don't like it perhaps nearly as much as I do other levels in the game before it like Phobos Lab or Nuclear Plant but then again that has more to do with the fact that it's a pretty short level with not a whole lot to do at least when it comes to sniping out all the enemies, finding all the secret areas and plus getting all the items as well. I am glad I did of course as I want to make sure I have made a gaming video for each of the levels in this game but I am gonna say though that I admittedly did not enjoy it as much as I did the other levels before but the next episode The Shores Of Hell has episodes I like even more than any of the ones found in this first episode Knee-Deep In The Dead and that's because I just like the Shores Of Hell more as an episode as well and you will, of course, find that out when I begin my walkthrough for that said episode in my next video after this one but yeah completing this map just never feels as satisfying as it does the other ones before it due to the lack of things you would otherwise have to do to get a 100 percent walkthrough done which brings me to the next little topic here before I end my description of this video here which is I apologize if I did not seem as energetic or enthusiastic as I did in the other videos before this and that's because I was feeling a trifle tired and lethargic from a rather busy and eventful week last week. I don't think you guys watching this video will notice that but in case you do I just thought I would briefly mention that.

And whelp, I believe I shall go ahead and end the description for the video here folks, except I just want to mention on a separate note that I wanted to mention in the video itself but forgot to which is I am eventually going to start a 100% walkthrough for Duke Nukem 3D as well at some point because that will obviously be fun too and also my next gaming-video for the MS-DOS version of this game here as I mentioned at the end of the video itself will be Episode 1, Mission 8 The Deimos Anomaly but again that will be in the next video though until then, however, my name is Nuclear-Skull87 and you all have an excellent and happy rest of your day. Amen!

I typically upload ambient and gaming vids each week, usually on Wednesdays and Saturdays!
